This is a small historical marker placed by the Sacajawea Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution in 1929. It marks the location of the old block house on the Andrew Chambers Donation Claim, built in 1855 as one of the local defensive measures in the disagreements with the local native population. The picture is from the University of Washington digital collections and was taken by Asahel Curtis in 1909.
