I love this park! It gets crowded on sunny days, so be prepared to hunt for parking, but the good thing is there is usually plenty to choose from especially if you go downhill closer to the water and dog park. You can go to the beach area and boardwalk, the dog park, playground, or find a spot in the many locations in the grass to have a picnic. There are two bathroom stations with water fountains for humans and pups.
It is a great 3 mile walk, run or jog if you completely around the park which gives you excellent views of the bay and golf course depending on the direction you walk. Do keep in mind that there are steep hills when walking the wooded area beyond the playground to the right. If you park next to the playground, and get onto the main trail going right, then you will go down the somewhat steep hills, but if you go left in the main trail, that will eventually take you down one long more gradual hill which means you will be walking up the wooded, more shaded yet steep windy hills eventually towards the end of the trail if parked up the hill near the playground. It may be a somewhat challenging walk for some but it is well worth the views and fresh air. The park is kept tidy and people seem to be mostly kind there. Grab a sweater for overcast days because it gets especially cool down near the water.
