l am (was) a member of champions fitness gym. Preliminary to joining, I had her many, many negative reviews about the operations manager, Renee- despite these reviews I decided I would fabricate my own opinion; 1 tried the gym. I attended multiple classes, and throughly enjoyed them; I never had to even speak to the front desk staff excluding the single instance I was enrolling as a member- in which this was not a interaction with Renee. Renee is the Bain of the definition of rude, disrespectful, dishonest & narcissistic. I travel for work; I needed to cancel my membership as I was traveling and would be unable to attend. Unfortunately, my request was not fulfilled for months. I let it go, and continued to be deducted the monthly membership fee of $45 for two additional months thereafter my request was made. Approaching the third month and my third request, I decided to get again- call and request this NOT happen and speak with a manager. Renee- called me back and within the third sentence out of her mouth was calling me "condescending" because I kindly asked her to stop speaking over me as she was relaying 1) incorrect information from her staff and 2) barely let me speak a entire sentence. One I was called condescending she continued to attempted to argue with me about the name calling and the associated dates of my requests. I was again able to speak one sentence before she hung up on me. I called back, she ignored. This happened multiple times, I called again- she answered and hung right up; multiple times. Finally, I waited some time to call again and SHE TURNED THE PHONES OFF!! Later on, I called finally to simply ask that my money be returned for one single month and she had another staff member by the name of Jason answer, who said he would relay the message. The gym itself is not the issue. Renee is. I am not leaving this review exclusively on this single interaction. This has been going on too long and even her own staff I consulted with has agreed. 0/10.”
It is not the fact the numeral amount is only $45- honestly, I could care less about the $45; it’s the disregard and constant disrespect to members. It’s the principle of her constant act with no repercussions. I am simply now requesting my $45 back (which really is $135) and I will never step foot in that establishment again.
It’s too bad a single employee can give an entire business a poor reputation. There have been negative reviews for years, I prefer to not give a negative review on social media- however this is a pressing issue and if not rectified I will be filing the said report.
