Receptionists and nurses are nice. My kids doctor is decent. But she was on maternity leave and we have been having a different doctor seeing my kids. We have been having to pay co-pay for 2 of baby's well visits. I talked to a receptionist and was told it was our insurance that is charging us since there should not be any co-pay for well visits. Then I talked to the insurance and they told me it's the clinic that coded as an office visit instead of a checkup. It happened twice and started to feel personal. We will probably change the clinic unless the doctor comes back by the next checkup.
-UPDATE My husband and I went to an annual preventive checkup since our PCP came back from maternity leave. We were surprised by bills from Chas AGAIN. Our insurance should cover 100% for one annual checkup for each individual. We talked to Chas and they told us our well visit turned into "diagnostic" once we answered questions the doctor asked. We were unaware and feels like being tricked into. We only answered what our doctor asked and there were nothing special the doctor did except giving us a tdap (which was covered by our insurance.) Also, the doctor wouldn't order a blood test when my husband asked. He has a family history of colon cancer, but the doctor wouldn't talk about the colon health because he is not over 40. The doctor won't prescribe fluoride even though our water doesn't contain fluoride and so many studies show it is a good cavity prevention. Their practice seems morally wrong and unethical. It even seems fraudulent. We will be seeking formal complaints against the facility.
