No personal accounts

The main company, China Citic Bank in China, who do personal accounts are the worst bank I have ever dealt with. You cannot transfer money with their app, there is no web-based service and have to go to the branch for all business as they require your bank card, your signature signed on the spot and to take your photo. All of their paper work is then done by hand (yes pen and paper). So if you are trying to use your account and you are anyway apart from where a branch is then forget it. Customer service is shockingly bad with staff simply walking away from you in branch and refusing to speak to you. Their help (via wechat only) is only in Chinese even though they have a large number of foreign clients as they work with many international businesses. If you can avoid opening an account with them do!
