Yum! Good quality ingredients and just the right portion size to fill you. Very down to earth and family-friendly atmosphere. Seems very random for Spanaway to have a restaurant like this, haha. Very sweet of the chef to come out and say hello. I believe he is actually from France. We got the escargot, duck, salmon, and they had blueberry pie that day. The pie was not sweet like a typical American desserts but still good.
The menu of the photo Merrillee posted I believe has the most accurate prices as of MAR24.
Came in to try this place on our anniversary weekend as my wife is European. Have driven by it for 5 years.
We sat and ordered two appetizers (tomatoe soup and salmon/ herring platter) and drinks. We got our appetizers fairly quick but ended up waiting for and hour to get food.
We were a two top table and other larger groups that got sat after us, got their food before we did. Service was slow but we think only one girl was working the front as cashier and waitress and bussing tables.
We felt our bill was expensive for 2 people with 2 apps, 2 entrée and 3 drinks (2 beer, 1 soda) when accounting for the food taste and portions size.
Sadly, we won't come back for another meal due to the value and time to get food. We had some higher hopes when we first sat down.
My wife and I went here on a date last night (Saturday evening). We had our doubts due to the location, but decided to give it a try, and we are so very glad we did!
First of all, I want to say that there wasn’t a single aspect of our experience that wasn’t absolutely phenomenal. What a pleasant surprise! The waitress was sweet and attentive, not lacking in service in any way. The dining room was clean, inviting and relaxed, with zero wait to be seated. In fact, there were only a few other diners the entire length of our visit, which on one hand was nice, but on the other hand is a bummer because it’s clear that this bistro is a secret that is too well kept. More people need to know about this Tacoma treasure.
No on to the food: -I ordered a Polish lager beer that was very tasty Appetizers: we shared the escargot because neither of us had tried it before, and it was amazing. -main courses: I had the roasted duck breast-wonderful! My wife had the seafood ragout in a puff pastry- again, simply wonderful! Dessert- we shared the bread pudding and it was the best we had ever had.
Do yourself a favor, give this bistro a try, I promise you that you won’t be disappointed.
