Great service, and fantastic support even if you're in the wrong place. Jason, Linda, and Dolores can always either solve your problem or get you to the person who can. All the staff are friendly and hilarious.

The staff is extremely rude I asked them about a timeframe and they were very rude about it not even friendly they want us to be out here from 8 AM to 4:30 PM without taking a lunch going to the restroom or doing anything there are making us violate our work laws to benefit them they need a better system very embarrassing for the city to do this they should be ashamed of themselves

Today I went to the building department in hopes of getting information on how to permit my 6×8 ft trellis as directed by code enforcement. As I walked in to the department, I was immediately asked if I needed any help, so I explain my situation and hope the clerk will be kind enough to help me in any way, shape, or form. Instead, she gets my address and simply reads the notes from my previous discussion with code enforcement, so I respond with, Is there anyone else that I can speak with? Of course she says no with a snobby attitude and says I need plans and structure ratings from the manufacture because the structure is aluminum. I tried speaking to the lady at the counter nicely, but she continued to speak to me as if I was bothering and ruining her day. I recently moved to bakersfield and in the few months I've been here I have noticed that many people feel superior than others. Not sure why this is, but my experience today made me feel belittled. Apparently I'm good enough to serve our country (Iraqi Freedom), but not good enough to be talked to with respect.
