I am a widow of a veteran. And one time our family was having a very difficult time being able to keep food in the house. Someone suggested that I visit them, and so I asked her, what can they do? I am just the widow, with 2 kids? She said, you'll be surprised. And was I ever! They gave me a food voucher for us, at that time, they had a lot of funds to work with, and so I received a voucher, for $100 for the 3 of us. I looked at the lady, at cried, "you have NO IDEA HOW MUCH, WE NEEDED THIS"! That was about 15 years ago. I had all the needed documents at home, so I took them with me, and came home, richer, than I left!
I thank Jehovah God for their support!

Wow! This VOLUNTEER ran NON PROFIT( not affiliated with the VA) is a fantastic resource for vets and their families in clark county. As a proud USMC family, we are so grateful for this type of center and the opportunities, supplies, etc that everyone at CCVAC goes out of their way to provide through donations. These hard working people show up & dedicate their time to support vets in Vancouver. Thank you for all you do!!

I have known these folks for a few years, availed myself of some of the services offered but mostly, connected with other Veterans. They treat all Veterans as peers, as equal human beings, with respect, regardless of their current circumstances. In other words, the craziest, filthiest, most strung out homeless person, gets a smile and a warm cup of coffee. Every county in Washington has a county Veterans office or officer. This one should conduct training seminars for all the others. They have various funds from various resources, each with their own rules that they are bound to follow. They are very familiar with the VA, being Veterans themselves or Gold Star family members that can help anyone navigate a massive bureaucracy. I read all the negative comments and I'm certain there is an explanation for every complaint. What they are describing is out of character and in my observation, have never occurred at Clark County Veterans Center. These people are unpaid and underpaid Angels, mostly volunteers.
