I am not sure what the point is to making an appointment when they don't follow their own scheduled appointments. My husband had a scheduled appointment. He arrived 15 mins early. He wasn't seen for over 45 minutes!!! That is unacceptable. He had a scheduled appointment, we should have been well on our way back home, which is an hour away, by the time they finally brought him back to start his appointment. Very unacceptable, unprofessional and just not how to run an office.
Edit due to reply from owner: 15 minutes early to an appointment is not a big deal, it just shows that he is punctional and on time, his appointment was at 10am, he was not seen until 10:45, please do NOT double schedule patients as this is what happens.
I needed a cornea transplant two years ago and was sent to a specialist in Portland. My follow-ups were in Lacey, but after a year of monitoring and adjusted meds, for whatever reason, the eye wouldn’t return to normal. A replacement surgery was performed 10 months ago in Lacey. When it became clear that the eye was still not recovering, I was referred for a second opinion to a specialist at UW Harborstone Hospital. That was 6 months ago, and only now has UW called me to set up an appointment. I understand that turnover at UW contributed to the delay, but my requests to Clarus to expedite the referral were overlooked despite my attempts to communicate via the patient portal.
But a legitimate complaint is that the full names of patients are called out while they are waiting in the public waiting room. Is this a violation of HIPPA?
On the plus side, I can usually get in and out of the Lacey clinic within an hour, though some appointments are late due to high patient load. And the technicians are skilled and always friendly.
