OK so everything takes a little longer on the island, you should be used to this before needing your car repaired here anyways. I am a recent transplant to whidbey and I brought my car here for a check engine light which I needed to clear for emissions. Not only did the mechanic run the OBD check for free (easy, but normally charged for) he let me know that island county doesn't require emissions, and that all I needed to do was update my registered address. He could have charged me $500 for a worthless repair, but was honest and friendly instead. 5 star all the way.
