The Cohen Bray house is a gorgeous place to learn more about the Victorian era in Oakland and the Bay Area. The place is open once a month for guided tours on the fourth Sunday, and it is also possible to book private tours. In any case, check the website for dates and special events. There are many opportunities to volunteer both in the house or the garden, and I loved it so much that after our visit I've been volunteering for over 7 months.

I went with my mother and my friend here in summer 2018 and it was so fascinating. We arrived early before the official tour scheduled and the tour-guide let us take an early tour of the house :). The tour guide had her own haunting experience, knew so much about the history of the home, its family, and its role in Oakland - Glad I got to learn so much about local history.

I went for the 5th annual Biergarten fundraiser.
The beer was good and the back yard was shaded by ancient trees.
The tour was given by a Coen/Bray family member and it was was fantastic!
The house is beautiful and has all its original features
