Update on December 22, 2023: I reached out to Cold Stone to express my complaint. They connected me with the branch manager who arranged a refund in the form of a gift card. Unfortunately, they couldn't refund it back to my credit card. Although all issues were resolved, I'm still saddened by not being able to present that special cake on the day.
Review on September 20, 2023: Ordered a custom large cake from Cold Stone Mission Viejo 5 days in advance for a very special occasion. Was told the cake was forgotten when I went to pick it up on the day (September 19th). The first part of the cake was ready but they couldn't complete it on time. Was told I had to speak to the manager for any refunds or concerns, but couldn't reach him/her. The staff offered a ready-made cake for free, but refused to write on it. Asked for the manager's phone number but was denied because I took the free cake. Extremely disappointed. Would give 1 star.
The worker who took my payment tonight kept $2 for himself on purpose. I noticed, but since I was planning to give a $1 tip, I decided not to make a fuss about it.
As I was driving home I realized he did it intentionally. The cashier took my payment, handed back the cash folded and put it on the counter with coins change on top, expecting me to not check it and just put it back in my wallet.
I am disappointed that he stole from a customer and I will not return
