I’ve had better stays at the Motel 8 on the Echo Park end of Sunset during ballgames.
Stayed in 315. I’m not even sure why the whole 15 stack (rooms 115, 215, 315) exists - it’s a belligerently stupid place to put rooms and obviously forced. The room I was in had to be a utility room before or something, it directly abuts the elevator, stairwell, and vending machines and is half the size of other rooms. The area of my entry smelled like piss and beer and it took a cool minute to waft the smell out of the room.
Reason for review; when a homeless person started blaring music out front of my window, management “couldn’t hear it” and said the sidewalk is public property. Dude was obviously being disingenuous because the lobby is louder than my room.
Wasn’t expecting much but I’ll be letting my firm and their travel agent to not book here anymore. I should have refused the room but I just wanted some sleep and did not get it.
