I'm a physical therapist and generally a pretty good one. I'm in good health and can run several miles and play basketball and outrun people half my age. So I tend to think that I'm doing just fine and there is nothing amiss or that needs attention with my body or how I move. However, the clinicians and the technology at Competitive Edge were able to pick out a unilateral pelvic drop and hip abduction moment that I have on my right leg when I run. Just a week before, I went for a run. During that run, knowing that I was going to be doing a running gait assessment, I wondered if they would find any significant issues. I knew I had a long stride but I thought I was solid everywhere else with my running gait.
Long story short, at Competitive Edge they can see what others can't see, they get to the root of the problem, and the sooner one gets evaluated the better!
I came from another ACL rehab clinic. After 12 months of surgery, my progress was slow, still could not trop hop, could not run for more than 20 mins. So I decided to give competitive edge a try and immediately I realized that I should've chosen here at day one.
I can't thank my PT Kelly enough for the incredible care and support throughout my ACL rehab journey. From my 1st free evaluation session, Kelly was knowledgeable, attentive, and encouraging. She made every session challenging but manageable, and her expertise gave me the confidence that I was on the right path to recovery. Thanks to Kelly, after another 6 months rehab, I am going back to ski this season!
