We stumble upon this classic looking bar while strolling along North Beach / Chinatown. And now it becomes our favorite bar.
The bartender Kent is a super skillful mixologist. Tell him what you feel like, and he will make you a delicious drink that is both surprising and delightful.
The food was also excellent. The caviar bite is totally out of this world even though it's a $10 bite. Most importantly the vibe is totally cool. The classic and historic look of this bar totally bring you back to the 1900s.
We will definitely come back again and would highly recommend it.
Update: needed a place to meet up before our dinner reservations and this was a convenient location. We just made it for happy hour. Interestingly, I was the only one out of the group who had been there before. 3 out of the 8 even lived in North Beach. We’re all longtime SF residents of 25+ years. Glad that I could surprise a few folks.
I’ve always walked by this bar/restaurant but never went in. It's always crowded after work. Came here for lunch on Thanksgiving weekend. It wasn't crowded. They ran out of oysters the night before. The fries were crispy and came with homemade ranch. I didn't want and eggy meal so I ordered tres leche toast which was more of a dessert than a meal exactly as our waitress warned me. (Okay by me as I wasn't super hungry.) My cousin ordered char siu bao with eggs benedict that was very rich. Yummy!!!
Bartender was incredible. Super nice. Very helpful and sincere. And he was fast and made everything look easy. 10/10
Dunno your name dude with the short really cropped hair, but thanks for the great service 🙏
