Nice place. The pump area is always nicely lit when getting dark. The staff have always been nice & courteous to me when I've been there. If they were not busy they would even help me load the many bags of ice into my cooler & car. I wish they would be more aggressive in their gas prices. They have several other gas stations in just a few blocks. They could really make some money if they challenged the prices of all the other places! Just a thought.
L I stood outside this Conoco recently while my friend went inside and got himself a coffee and me a hot chocolate. Hot chocolate was a little too sweet for me, so I went back inside and asked the two men who were staying at the point of sale, if I could just put some creamer inside of my hot chocolate. They both promptly told me no and to leave. The elapsed time between when My friend purchased the drinks and brought mine to me outside, and when I went inside and requested some creamer, was about 30 seconds, maybe less. He handed me a cup, and then had a second thought and switched cups, telling me he forgot for a moment which one was hot chocolate and which one was coffee. I took a small sip, and immediately turned around and walked about 10 ft to the front door or a stepped inside and asked about the creamer. I was not going to be opening my drink, I was not going to be touching any of the dispensers or any of the products, So I don't think that cross-contamination was a concern. Would I do believe the concern was, is that I am homeless and I had a purse a backpack and a Walmart reusable shopping bag with me, The latter two of which were left with my friend, because I had set them down while waiting for him to go inside and grab the drinks. The staff, I imagine, are very well aware that I am homeless, being as I see them every day to purchase warm drinks, food, and other necessities, pretty consistently throughout the week. Up until this point, I thought that me and these men had a respectable dynamic between us. Now, I understand that I am just minimally tolerated by them. There's another convenience store kitty corner from this location, there's also Sunset grocery a block away, and another convenience store adjacent to them, on 2nd Avenue, and I imagine that I will be visiting these locations a little more often from now on, and purchasing from this Conoco a little less often.
Prior to this event, I'd given them a five-star review, and went out of my way to come edit the review, to reflect My enlightenment of my relationship with The store in the staff the they employ.
