I recently took my son to Cookie Cutters for his first haircut, and I couldn't be happier with the experience! From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was warm and welcoming. The kid-friendly decor and fun play area immediately put my son at ease.
Jackie. our hairstylist, was absolutely fantastic. She was patient, kind, and knew exactly how to handle a toddler's first haircut. My son was really fussy and restless, but Jackie stayed professional and calm throughout the entire process. She took the time to make sure he was comfortable and engaged, even letting him sit in one of the special chairs shaped like a car, which he loved.
The haircut itself was perfect. Jackie listened to what we wanted and delivered an adorable, stylish cut that suited my son perfectly.
Overall, Cookie Cutters and Jackie provided an exceptional experience for my son's first haircut. I highly recommend them to any parents looking for a stress-free and enjoyable haircut experience for their children. We'll definitely be returning for future haircuts!
I’m writing this review a day after going to Cookie Cutters. Because I didn’t want to do it. But I look at my son and convince myself that I need to do it. Because it’s just not fair. We have been to cookie cutters before and it was good. Thats why I'm giving 2 stars for the 3 previous visits. If it were only for today I would do 0 or less if I could. I got there 3 minutes before my appointment and had to wait for the stylist that was doing my son's hair (Victoria) because she wasn't ready. When she came out, she was kinda rushing us to choose a chair (it's not our fault she came out like five minutes past our starting time). Okay, that's fine, It doesn't matter. I understand she probably got caught up with something. BUT, then when she started cutting his hair without asking me how; I called my husband on the phone to make sure about the cut we wanted. We agreed we wanted 3 on top and 1 bottom. The moment I said 3 on top she immediately placed the haircut machine right in the middle of my son's top hair and cut it. She didn't wait for me to say if we wanted some style or something. (We did want some hair on top front to be able to do his hair). I don't even know what I felt. I started to get nervous. She wasn't communicating with me nor being nice to my son she was just kind of rushing and doing what she needed to do and no more. She kept complaining about my son moving but he wasn't really moving. He was watching the tv and eating a lollipop that she gave to him because when we got there he was little sleepy because he took a nap in the car on our way to the salon, just to explain how still he was he wasn’t even trying to hold the lollipop due to the apron he was trying to keep his hands inside the apron. He was doing good. He wasn’t crying nor moving. There was a few previous visits when he did move and the other girls I believe Elizabeth and Laray did really good with him moving. This time I really don't think that was the problem. I consider myself a very understanding person if that would've been the problem. She continued cutting my son's hair and did 3 and 1. She told us she was finished when I could literally see chunky black parts and I asked her to please fade it out and she said no, that it was ok. I insisted to please fade it out and she did with not a very good attitude. Then she insinuated she was done, thing that I didn't think was true. I asked her if she could cut a little more in the front or fix it and she refused; replying back to me that she was the stylist and she had many years of experience. So she was not going to cut any more. Like what??? I’m paying almost $40 to get told no to what I ask for!!! She can be the stylist but he is MY SON. I know what I like and what I don’t like on him. Then, she proceeded to ask me to move. She just said to me “ok now move” because I was removing hair from my son’s neck because he was getting frustrated due to her just doing everything in such a weird way. And that’s why I’m taking the time to do this review because there was so much lack of professionalism yesterday. She kept saying the haircut turned out like that because he was moving (which is not true). He wasn’t still 100% obviously, he is 3 years old but he was doing really good for his age. She is supposed to know how to deal with kids moving that’s why this is a place for kids. If not, I would do it myself or I would take him to any other place that isn’t as expensive as cookie cutters. I’m just very disappointed! We were getting the haircut to do a photoshoot, now we are rescheduling until his hair grows back. Sadly I’m not coming back to cookie cutters I drive half an hour to get there and it’s just not worth it. As parents we take the decision to pay $40-50 each visit in hopes for a special experience for our beautiful kids and yesterday was just awful. And now that I have decided to not go back makes me sad to think that we had our son’s first haircut ever at cookie cutters and they didn’t even care to offer us the first haircut certificate. For parents is special, for them is just business.
Took my son for a cut and it was a great experience! We were the only ones there and the appt started promptly. I showed the stylist a photo and she perfectly executed it and was so kind and patient. My son had a great experience. Not to mention he got a toy plane on the way out. There’s a really nice selection of toys :) and he just so happened to be asking for a fighter jet for a week. It was meant to be! Thanks for the rad mullet and fighter jet, guys!
Fast, kind, and wonderful service.
