This Rattlesnake was curled up on the side of the path we were hiking on. It was early morning, so he was quiet and we just avoided him.

It’s an amazing geological wonder and a glimpse of what the original Lake Cahuilla must have been like. Sadly, it has been defaced and destroyed by graffiti carvings and paint and has become a monument to the self-centered, shallowness, selfishness, and stupidity of the average person these days. Too bad this resource wasn’t protected long ago.
