My previous guitar knowledge was self-taught and limited, but enabled me the ability to enjoy playing with a Christian rock band the last three years. I decided a few months ago I wanted to get a real foundation in music and located Dan from the Internet. He's an incredible guitarist and has amazingly extensive knowledge of the intricacies of music! His ability to analyze my technical weakness and show me specific ways to enhance my style of play is truly helpful. We spend time in traditional methodology study, then delve into my bands own music for pointers on ways to make my part more interesting. It's been practical learning all along and totally enjoyable.

Dan is a superb teacher. Following retirement I decided to fulfill a lifelong desire to learn to play the acoustic guitar. Having no prior experience playing a musical instrument I approached this undertaking with a modicum of anxiety and intimidation, until my first lesson with Dan. His warm personality and his easy intellectual approach clearly informed me that Dan was the absolute best mentor I could have chosen. He guided me through the early learning phases, easily answering any and all of my questions. He is exceedingly patient, especially nice, and unbelievably talented. Personal time constraints required temporary postponement of my lessons, soon to be resumed. I categorically endorse Dan as the ultimate acoustic guitar teacher.

I actually came here by accident. I thought I was going to another guitar instructor who's studio is nearby. Well let me tell you Dan is excellent teacher, his rates are fair and he's very flexible with scheduling (as long as you communicate with him). He offers the first couple of lessons for 50% off too which is great if you want to check out his teaching style before committing to his full rate.
Dan's a professionally trained multi instrumentalist and has lived and studied in Japan. He has a great understanding and interest in a wide variety of music styles and genres. He's a great person too and is someone I consider a friend. Our conversations always seem to run over after class as I'm the last lesson for that day. I've learned so much in the last 6 months or so I've been taking lessons that it would be impossible to list here.
A normal lesson for me is a bit of music reading/theory, then he'll teach some finger and hand exercises that I can practice more at home and then we wrap it up by going over a song or two that I want to learn. I'm very satisfied.
