Cougar Crest Trailhead (parking fee area)

Beautiful hiking area. Nice moderate trail with nice open views of the lake below and big bear ski mountain across to the other side. Not a loop but a nice top to bottom hike. Pack a lunch and find a nice flat rock area to take in the fresh area and peacefulness.

Great 2-mile trail up to the ridge where it meets the Pacific Crest trail. From there you can hike up to Bertha Peak ... The road is very steep but the views from the top are great.

Beautiful trail challenging with a great mixture of terrain and landscapes. It's not very long and there are a few rest stop benches on the way. Don't forget water and respect the trail.
