Long story short: this was the first time I've faced racism/double standard in Portland.
The store has a policy of leaving food and drinks on a side table right at the entrance and I was told (borderline warned and yelled at) immediately after I walked in. In less than 30 second, a group of 3 white people walked in and they were all holding a drink each on hands but they were not told to put their drinks down. The store was not busy at the time, there were two employees on site. One man from the group was carrying a conversation while holding his cup at the register with one employee and the two other people were looking around at the store.
I was curious so I watched carefully on the side and they were never being told to set down their drinks. I'm personally very disappointed with the treatment. Do not recommend.
