I ordered a Blue Pneumatic Riv Nut tool at the beginning of May from Lowe's as well as an extra mandrel for 3/8-16 hardware. The first unit I received was defective - couldn't even spin. I took back the unit to Lowe's and ordered another. They honored the warranty, no problem.
The second unit showed up and could spin, but not with enough force to compress a riv nut, even without material. I spent most of my morning working with their customer service team to try and figure out my issue. After trouble shooting everything, I was advised to ship the unit back to their warehouse for inspection. They sent me a call tag through UPS and I sent it back.
About a month passes by without hearing anything from them. I call back in to customer service to see what the hold up is. I am told that my package was never received, and that they hadn't sent out any call tags - it must have been lost in the mail. Feeling suspicious, I dug through my receipts and eventually found the tracking number...it had been delivered over a month previously. I called back to tell them that UPS handed off the package to them, but they still weren't able to find my package. This was two weeks ago. Every time I call I am told that the warehouse workers aren't in that day to check, and they still haven't been able to find my package. They promise to look when the staff is back and get back to me, but each time I have to call back to check on the status only to be told again that they haven't gotten around to looking for it.
So here I am 3 months and two defective units later, $600 in the hole (plus another $100 for the extra mandrel), and no closer to setting a riv nut. Apparently I will get a phone call Friday once the staff has time to check the warehouse (chances are I'll call them next Monday looking for an update). The project I ordered this tool for is over, luckily I have a manual riv nut tool that works. Usually I'm not one to leave bad reviews, but this customer experience has been extremely frustrating. I am holding out hope that they will make this right and at least get me my money back or a working tool, but purchasing a Blue Pneumatic tool has so far proved to be a gigantic waste of time and money. I do not recommend.
