We hired Cruz Construction to remodel our basement, which included a great room, laundry room, bathroom, new stair case and build out of a small office. Jose and his foreman, Rodrigo, made up the primary team - and we really couldn't have asked for a better group to be in our home for the three-month project. We were continuously impressed with their attention to detail and with the respect they showed our home.
We had an initial vision for the space but once work was underway, there were some unexpected challenges. Jose and Rodrigo brought creative ideas and consulted with us along the way. They walked us through the work they were doing and why. There was no cutting corners around many of the foundational things. In the end, the finished basement exceeded our expectations.
Before this project, we really dreaded the idea of hiring a contractor in fear of all the renovation horror stories you hear. Our experience was so painless and now we have basement that is cozy and functional. If you're planning a renovation, you are great in great hands with Jose & team!
Jose and his team did a number of projects for us, including 3 bathroom remodels, a garage permitting and remodel, and some exterior work. Jose went above and beyond in all cases, and we will absolutely continue to work with him. He does not subcontract his work, and he and his team are incredibly professional, quiet and unobtrusive. He leaves everything clean throughout the duration of the project. He helped realize each project based on inspirational photos we showed him, helped source materials, and did not leave until the project was 100% to our satisfaction (and his). He added brilliant ideas to each project, and everything turned out wildly better than we anticipated.
Jose also stayed on budget with each project. His bids were detailed and it was always clear exactly where we were in the project each step of the way. We were never invoiced beyond the scope of the projects.
Jose's experience is invaluable for inexperienced remodelers like us. He knew exactly when we needed design direction and his experience was critical to the overall result, particularly when we asked for unusual features. Would highly recommend for any project, and we will be using him again.
