Rooms are older. Strong musty smell when we first checked into the room. Our major issue was the noise though. Very thin walls and we could hear people using the outdoor staircase and on the upper floor all night. The location is unbeatable though. Walking distance to the Rainier Gondola and a short beautiful drive to the national park.

We stayed at the village inn within the crystal mountain resort area. Rooms were nice clean and comfy. They provided a fan for the room which was more than enough to keep the room cool. The reason for the 4 star is because there is no lights in the stairs outside, which seems quite dangerous at night or early morning for those that get up before sunrise. The breakfast was provided to us at the Alpine inn located at the base of the Gondola. As a guest they allow us to eat a complimentary breakfast. They had waffles made to order, toast, bagels, fruits, danishes, and yogurt. They also had a coffee station with juice, and a milk and cereal station as well. We went on July 20 for one night. I bet this place gets crazy for skiing.

Beautiful mountain unfortunately lodging at the Village Inn was embarrassing. It’s like the team of management and employees gave up and moved out without clearing up. Dog feces, un-maintained pathways covered in ice. And room(s) were disgusting. Our group with multiple rooms left early after sharing our experience with the manager. They offered other rooms considering we already experienced more than one with multiple maintenance issues such as toilets, showers, exposed electrical and cleanliness (hair and food from previous guests) we didn’t make it 12 hours in our rooms. No reply, apologies or any “hospitality” was offered.
