My wife is a Type 1 diabetic. Her normal CVS location was out of her blood glucose transmitter so she called this location to see if they had one so she could resupply.
First off, she was on hold for about 20-30 minutes twice before she was hung up on. Then she called again a bit later and waited 45min (she took a shower while her call was on hold) and finally go through.
Secondly, my wife asked, “I wanted to check and see if you guys have a Dexcom Transmitter in stock.” To which the pharmacist replied…
“Oh this is the pharmacy! Let me transfer you to the TOY DEPARTMENT.”
My wife had to hastily stop her and explain TO THE PHARMACIST that this is medical device that’s prescribed to her to monitor her BG. Seriously?? Where did you go to school? Toys ‘R’ Us? I was astounded.
How is it that we’re supposed to trust the pharmacist to give us the right medication/items when they don’t even know common items?? And a lot of times the diabetes devices are displayed at the front of the pharmacy counter.
What an embarrassing employee. Please, do us a favor and don’t continue to work in medicine before you harm someone.
