First, I have been homeless for nearly 2 years. I'm also well educated and have a trade skill I can no longer do. I'm used to being discounted, dismissed, disregarded.
Not today! Thank You, JOHN C. BUENO, RPH! (Napa-CoombsSt)
Often, when Medi-Cal declines to pay for a medication my doctor orders, it's just about how the script is written. Many pharmacists have the ability to fix the glitch right then and there...WITH A LITTLE, EXTRA WORK. Few do. Most act like there's nothing they can do and refer me back to my doctor, while calling forward the next customer in line, especially with a long line of people behind me.
Today, after confirming the med had been filled, I walked a mile, up and over a large bridge to get it. (I'm disabled so that wasn't easy!) When I arrived, I was told the medication wasn't covered. Instead of dismissing me, he said, "Let me try something..." He went back to his computer, did A LITTLE typing and suddenly, my medication was covered.
This quality of customer CARE, not just job service, is rare in my world. Thank you Sir, for making me feel just as valuable a customer as everyone else, for speaking to me with respect and treating me with dignity and kindness. I'm grateful. Look for my shout out on Instagram!
