First of all I am only giving Cynthia benson 1 star because of the fact that I asked her to please do a one time exception since I was asking her to please reschedule me due to the Inclement weather in the tri cities when it snowed and all of the streets were I lived were horrible and very dangerous . I live by the badger mountain area so that should explain how we’re the last ones to be considered for plow trucks . Anyway, There was no way out especially with the type of vehicle that I have. I didn’t need to explain any of that but what she did was send me back an email reply saying that she has been out and about all day and she has still been seeing other clients . That’s fine if she wants to risk all of her clients life and she wants to risk Hers , but I will not especially since plow trucks don’t visit my area at all . She was talking to me as if the roads are the same as where she was driving . Tri cities is huge not all road conditions are the same . It was very rude for her to imply that , I even mentioned that the fog was getting very bad and her reply over the phone was “ if you knew there was going to be a storm you should have emailed me so we could do a zoom meeting.” I’m sorry but what ? I’m not a meteorologist , I don’t know when storms are coming . I have children that I need to tend to after work , I’m not looking at my phone 24/7 or checking to see what kind of weather we will have when it has been the same. This storm hit unexpectedly, I wouldn’t have been able to plan a day before to reschedule a zoom meeting . Also I had never cancelled and i already had two visits under my belt and I always prefer visits in person. However If I knew that I could do a zoom meeting last minute then I would have but instead I got a reply of unfortunately you will be charged a cancellation fee. And they had no problem charging it . Please make sure you first ask what would happen on unusual circumstances or circumstances out of your control . But either way all therapists at least cynthia only care about money and she doesn’t care to take it . Don’t waste your time .

Worth noting: my experience was from several years ago now, so maybe this has changed since.

While my experience with her wasn't terrible, per-se, she completely failed to recognize the numerous signs of me living in an unsafe environment, leading to things getting worse over time until she eventually dropped me as a client when I started suspecting more things wrong with me than was true due to gaslighting at home.

So far we have only had one visit, but even so, we are both impressed by her logic and understanding. Glad we found her--as not all marriage counselors (Tri cities) are worth going to.

PS I was worried about making our appointment--as the weather was turning bad. Receptionist stated you need 48 hours to cancel, BUT you can call last minute (if necessary) and setup a zoom meeting instead. This works for me.
