My daughter began dancing at Dance Arts Project (DAP) when she was in 1st grade after her grandpa started talking to the studio owner at the gym. She began in pre-ballet and gradually increased the amount of classes she was taking per week (even doing a year and a half en pointe before the pandemic). The studio continued remotely during 2020-2021. She is now a senior and in 6 classes per week. She loves dance and the opportunity provided by the amazing teachers has allowed her to grow as a person and improve as a dancer. She has had a fantastic 12 years at DAP.
Addendum: the kids put on just an incredible show, all masked up and in a new to them setting. We were sad 😥 to learn one of my daughter's favorite teachers was moving to Chicago to study in a PhD program for physical therapy (can't fault her for pursuing her passion). I add only one comment, each year the seniors are given solos. I wish they would be called feature dances and not solos. For some of the dancers get true solos; some do not - they are featured (and some more than others). It would be more accurate (and I've noticed this going back years). I legit felt sorry for two seniors this year who were barely even featured (and neither was my kid). It's a relatively minor complaint, but it was noticed by many of our guests at the show.
