My aunt passed away August 30,2019 and when they pulled the casket out of the Hurst I saw how cheap it was and when they pulled her casket out of the Hurst it was dusty from sitting in the funeral home and when Jay saw how dusty it was he said quote, you get what you pay for, worst experience ever. Will never use them ever again. He rushed us to finish quickly and didn't pay any attention to the family.or give any condolences at all he shouldn't be a funeral director and owner he is a bad guy. And to make things worse he went to my aunt's church and he's supposed to be a Christian and he doesn't act like it he knew my aunt as well which made it even worse he seems to hate his job. He has not one but two locations he was not the nicest and he apologized after I called him

Avoid at all cost!!!!! The owner Jay is super rude and it was a headache to deal with him. He made our already sad moment even worst. He overcharges and hurries you, takes no time to explain anything or show you options just tries to get you out of the office as quickly as possible. He charged us twice the amount mortuaries charge for the viewing. Deer Creek is not a mortuary but just an agency. Go anywhere but here. We were so upset by the whole ordeal we went through going with Deer Creek and dealing with Jay. He has another office in Walnut Creek so avoid that one too.

My mother was diagnosed with Stage 4 pancreatic cancer. So my sister and I planned a last minute to fly from Denver,Co to the Philippines. Well, the cancer had progressed and we had to stop in California. Mom passed while we were here. We contacted Deer Creek to assist us. Jay and Susan were responsive to all calls and messages. They weren't able to answer every call at every minute but stayed in contact every day. They understood we were out of town and we were going to wait for our mother's ashes to take home. They explained everything on "what" to expect and realistic time frames for the process.
Everything was professional from the first call to the final hand over of my mom's remains.
One thing I really admired is that they had no "expedited fee" like other funeral services to "speed things up". Because fact is you cannot rush a medical examiner.
