I had my first appointment and it went great! I got a prescription treatment for eczema that was different and felt more useful than anything I’ve been given before at other dermatologists. I was also prescribed a cream and phototherapy in the meantime until my blood work for the treatment gets approved. They called a couple days ago that they sent my cream to a Walgreens and sent the wrong prescription!! Dr prescribed me something and they sent something completely different. I also called to schedule phototherapy immediately after my first appointment and it’s been two weeks without hearing back!! The Dr I saw was amazing and I feel like he was so good and genuine and wanted what was best for me, but holy hell they need to get it together office-wise. My experience so far has been absolutely unacceptable. I’ll update this review if they fix it in a timely manner because I did receive good care it’d just be nice if I could get started on it for goodness sake!
It’s been 3 days with no call back, but I was finally able to get ahold someone to correct the mistake.hopefully it all gets fixed!
Edit since the last time I left a low star review I actually got a call back. Again Dr Jenkin is great and has been so helpful! This is solely a review for the office. I called here and my pharmacy weeks ago to update my insurance to get authorization for my prescription. After the holidays I scheduled my pharmacy delivery. It never showed and when I called them they said it was a problem with the insurance and the prior authorization. While I was on the phone I missed a call from here saying the same thing that my insurance had issues and I needed to call back. (Annoying because i provided the information weeks ago, but whatever). I called back immediately and left a message. Then I called the next day and left another message. I’m starting to think they don’t ever check their voicemails because I still haven’t gotten a call back. It takes three days for the prescription to ship today is Wednesday and I need to have it for my next dose in exactly one week. It’s making me really anxious. I know dermatology doesn’t seem that urgent but waiting and not getting help in a timely manner is very unprofessional for any medical field. I hate to think anyone else is in need of help in a timely manner and have been left hanging as i have been. The fact that I have to leave a bad review here to get called back is ridiculous. It’s even worse that I might have to spend my whole copay card (this prescription is very expensive) to get my prescription in time just because they don’t check their voicemails. Another update : finally got ahold of someone and she said they DO have a record of my voicemails, they forwarded them to the medical team to get the authorization but nobody let me know. No excuses for the lack of communication here
Sadly, they do not accept money to see patients who aren’t in their insurance network, but they also don’t disclose that until you’ve driven (and parked) downtown to tell you this. If you aren’t within an insurance plan that they accept, you aren’t welcome here. Hopefully you aren’t suffering from a serious medical condition before you get this news and have to wait even longer for treatment.
I called the insurance commissioner’s office and they confirmed that there is no law that prohibits them from accepting money to see patients with an individual insurance plan. My insurance company says I’m free to visit whomever I choose, and I do this often by paying out of pocket. It’s a simple concept; you provide a service and I pay for it. Having waited over three weeks to get this appointment, then to be told that they do not accept money, is frustrating to say the least.
I recommend avoiding this place and looking for one that understands Washington state insurance laws, medical billing, discloses their payment systems, and accepts US dollars.
