I’d like to start by communicating that this is the first negative review I have ever left in my life. Even with not so great experiences I will avoid leaving a review for the sake of the business. This however needs to be known.
Nice people, I’m sure they mean well. They told me my service would be covered by my insurance - this is why I used them. While I was there the PA casually asked me if I wanted her to do something about the wart on my hand. I said yes and she sprayed it with nitrogen.
Months later I get a bill for over $500 saying my insurance didn’t cover it - a line item for over $300 was on my invoice for spraying my wart. There was zero communication of any type of up-charge for that. Had I known I would have absolutely declined.
That seems like a complete lack of integrity to not communicate that.
They have also begun automatically billing me which I did not verbally consent to.
I wouldn’t recommend going here.
Saw Mary Burnell, PA, and she seemed thorough and personable, she identified something that concerned her, and took appropriate action. When the biopsy results came back, Ms Burnell did not contact me. Instead, medical assistant, Stefanie Morley, called to deliver a cancer diagnosis. I asked for the pathology report, and upon receipt, I noted information on it that Ms Morley did not communicate to me. I sent a message that same Friday morning asking for a call to discuss the report. No one called, so I phoned the office at 4:10 PM only to learn the office was closed for the weekend. I left a VM; my third request to discuss. I received an after-hours message from Ms Burnell via Ms Morley containing two sentences about the pathology report, which only created my need for further discussion. Of course, a MESSAGE should NEVER REPLACE a cancer diagnosis DISCUSSION requested by a patient. Just shocking that Ms Burnell not only left me hanging for the weekend, but now, it’s day number six.
I am grateful that Ms Burnell identified a problem and recommended action. I find her decision to direct a medical assistant to deliver a cancer diagnosis to be unprofessional, lacking in compassion, inconsiderate, and insulting. Ms Burnell may be numb to cancer diagnoses, or they may be routine for her, or she may just be uncaring, but as a patient hearing I have cancer for the first time, it is anything but routine. I messaged Ms Burnell expressing my dismay at her conduct; she’s ignored my message.
I waited to post this review to ensure my outrage was warranted and not swayed by the unfortunate diagnosis, and to give Ms Burnell the opportunity to honor my request for a discussion. I’m still outraged, and my outrage is exacerbated by the fact that I requested a discussion three times beginning six days ago and Ms Burnell still has not called me. She’s been a PA in WA for less than 3 ½ years and it seems she hasn’t yet learned patient respect.
