Our dog loves the Goleta Dioji community and team members, and so do we. Here are a few features we love:
The staff treats our dog as theirs and are thoughtful and attentive. They have multiple staff members present to supervise their playing and take action if a dog is misbehaving or not feeling well. When our dog threw up during daycare (from gluttony at home 😂), they immediately called us to let us know and to see how to proceed, keeping a careful eye on her for the rest of the day. Our dog loves other canines but is shy around humans, and the staff gives her cuddles but also recognize how to move and interact with her in a way that respects her boundaries. The staff members are always ready to answer our questions and are a joy to talk to.
Boarding is super convenient when you really need it and also need a peace of mind. Dioji does this really nice thing where they send regular updates about how your dog is sleeping and eating, or if they've made new friends. The best are the photos of your dog playing or snoozing with pals. I didn't realize this until recently, but there is also a staff member who stays overnight with the boarding dogs and watches them. The dogs also are not crated (unless misbehaving/aggressive). What we usually do is reserve our boarding in advance, and then drop off our dog with meals and instructions around portions.
Fun for dogs! There are so many dogs to play with and platforms and hammocks. Dogs are separated by characteristics such as size and/or age to ensure harmony (as far as I can tell). And there's even a pool for dogs who enjoy swimming. We think this is where our dog dipped her "toe into the water" for first swimming lessons. If your dog enjoys other dogs' company, this facility is a great place.
Goleta Dioji provides a wonderful community resource for dog owners in the area. Thank you!
