I had a horrible experience with discovery bay wild bird sancuary from the beginning. I pulled up to the gate to a man standing there waiting. I got the bird out of the car the man took then grabbed the bird from me and would not let me explain anything about this bird and it led to the death of the bird! Had he given me a chance to speak he would have known the bird needed to be hand fed! Please do not support or bring any animals to this place in support of the dead little bird named cheep cheep. This place was extremely rude and arrogant and it cost cheep cheep his life!

An amazing wild bird rescue ran by brilliant people. We had the pleasure of seeing how thoughtfully and brilliantly the facility is run. The habitats are excellent, and Cindy has a heart of gold and the skill and knowledge to help so very many birds in need. Top notch facility for bird rehabilitation in the Pacific northwest.

My wife and I found an injured juvenile bald eagle in the forest near Dungeness Spit, sitting on a log in the cold snow on New Year's Eve. We called DBWBR and they had a team in the car for the one-hour drive within minutes (late afternoon on a holiday eve). They handled the situation expertly, gave the highest priority to the bird's comfort and safety, and wasted no time providing care to the youngster and a path to recovery. On the ten-minute walk back to the car, we learned a great deal about eagles, their injuries, recovery process, behaviors, and sociability. They handle dozens of eagle rescues each year, so really know what they're talking about. We admired the whole thing from start to finish.
