Went mid-June which is the tail end of wild flower season. It’s definitely a difficult hike with the elevation gain and length. A beautiful view of the gorge and at such a high elevation. The wild flowers weren’t at their peak but it was pretty. Extremely windy at the top half. Wouldn’t consider it worth the hike on a cloudy day or if the flowers aren’t full bloom. But that’s my own opinion. I know a lot of people love this hike. I just found it a little underwhelming for all of the hype and it’s difficulty.
If you can, hike this trail during wildflower season. It's worth the strenuous hike to the top because it's breathtaking when you get up there.
Parking fills up fast and they WILL tow your car if parked improperly, so go early and follow the rules. There is a restroom at the start of the trail.
This is a strenuous hike if you're going to the top, so be mindful of your capacities and limitations. The trail narrows close to the top and on one side, there's nothing but a drop, so if you're sketched out by heights, keep that in mind.
That said, I mean, look at it. The photos don't even compare to how beautiful it is in real life, either.
