3.5/5 Late Post It's been a while since my last visit to Don Cuco's. The chips and salsa are tasty and well-seasoned. I tried the pastor carne and arroz con pollo. Both dishes were part of a combo where you could choose between soup or salad. My partner and I went for both soups of the day: albondigas and chicken tortilla. The albondigas was rich in flavor but overly salty, while the chicken tortilla was the better choice that day. The arroz con pollo was decent, but covered in a lot of cheese and sour cream. The pastor carne was smaller than expected and lacked flavor - maybe it all went into the soup? The rice and beans were okay, but I would prefer the beans without onion and tomato in them.
The service was average and could be improved. The servers were lacking in some areas, such as not refilling water promptly; we had to ask twice. Additionally, tortillas should be a standard when ordering Mexican food, but we had to request them. The atmosphere is dimly lit and romantic. They were quite busy on a Wednesday evening. They offer outdoor seating, and although I can't recall seeing outdoor heaters in the patio area but they are dog-friendly!
