In February of 2020 Tonya and I stumbled across a home listed on Facebook Marketplace and we made arrangements to take a look. We feel in love with the house that was just the right size for our needs, in a great neighborhood, and just inside our price range. The only hitch? It was a for sale by owner listing. Neither of us felt comfortable taking on this task without having a detailed knowledge of the whole home-buying process. We reached out to a real estate agent that Tonya you knew in the area, but the never got back to us.
Feeling like we were about to miss out on a great home, Tonya asked if I knew a local agent. I remembered that a former student had posted that something about a real estate business. So, I reached out through Facebook.
Enter the Douville Home Group. John jumped right in and got us started in the process of putting in an offer. He met with the seller and earned her trust. He lined up inspections and took the lead in getting work done on the sewar system. He set us up with a fantastic mortgage agent, Becky Thompson, and everything started moving to a March closing date.
At the last minute some financial issues with the down payment appeared and I thought the house was not going to happen. John took my panicked call and calmly walked me through the steps to get qualified for down payment assistance, and Becky worked with me to get a new loan in place. We closed on March 20, 2020. The day before the pandemic shut down everything.
When Tonya needed to stage her townhome, Catie jumped in and took over that task and did a fantastic of job of getting furniture, wall art, and more set up in Tonya’s Seattle area home.
The Douville Home Group made our dreams come true and they did during one of the most challenging times in history.

John and Catie are the best. At the time I chose to sell there was a lot of competition on the market, including in my building alone.
