Doctor Dozier became my primary care doctor in 2009. I always loved and respected him until early 2022 when things went south. He sounded irritated when I had my telehealth appointments, once going so far as to tell me to "handle" a serious concern myself. I found a new primary care doctor in late January 2023.
Nope, not at all. My Mother was told by an ER doctor at Adventist Health that she had been exposed to mold in our rental. He gave her medications to help, however he stressed they were not a permanent solution--she needed to be referred to an allergist for further testing. She had her telehealth with dozier last Thursday, and he basically was more concerned with her rheumatologist referral. He ended up talking to me, because my Mom could not understand him. I could barely hear him on my telehealth the week prior as well, and last Thursday was no different--got a picture of old medical stuff on his facebook, so perhaps he is using an old headset for phone calls, I don't know, don't care.
i explained that we had been waiting for 2 months to get into the rheumatologist because of his office. Every time I called to make the appointment, the rheumatologist staff would tell me they hadn't received the referral; I made this very clear. He then says to make the appointment for them first, and he will send the referral for the allergist. I call Friday morning, explaining we need to get Mom into the allergist as I have successfully (finally) set up an appointment for the rheumatologist. I was told the referral coordinator would be notified when she came in and would get it going. I called yesterday to confirm, I was told that they did see it in her chart, and that referral coordinator was out for the day however she would be notified. I called a few minutes ago, and was told by another staff member that they did not see a referral for the allergist, only rheumatologist.
How is it that one person can see something in the chart that no one else in the office can? Better yet, how is it legal to basically hold other referrals hostage until the patient sets up an appointment with someone else even though your office held it up to begin with?
His office is smaller than most of the ones we have been to, and yet he acts as if there's thousands of people there. I just know the first day we went there physically to be seen, my mother was physically sick; she had to keep running to the bathroom every few minutes. It took over an hour for her to be seen by Gabriel Garcia, who then proceeded not to even examine her after she went through several interruptions in the exam room while they were trying to go over history, illnesses, etc. He was far too busy chastising her choice to go to this office because Kern Medical , where he also works, screwed up her appointment. He felt it wasn't sufficient enough cause for to to leave.
This place is not run well at all, no one seems to know what the other is doing, and the communication may as well be nonexistent.
I wouldn't waste your time here unless you want to have a stroke.
WOW! A total circus from the beginning! I should have listened to my gut! Call the next name on your provider list! It was a ridiculous wait to get a first visit! Then they are lacking in communication and customer/ patient care skills. Over a dozen calls to clarify a simple thyroid prescription. I feel for the staff because if the doctor thinks himself above his patients surely he has low empathy for his employees. Discharge me as a patient is laughable when you didn't get the job done. Maybe tone it down on the no no no no no nooo no no's doc.
