Sadly I did not have a good experience with Dr Lee's office. I was careful to make sure they are in network for Aetna. I had previously had eye surgery and the surgeon recommended Dr Lee (and a few others) to remove the cataract. AFTER my appointment, they let me know that the surgery center used by Dr Lee is NOT in network for Aetna. So my appointment was a waste of time and I had to find another doctor. A month later I got a bill for the appointment with Dr Lee. So not only did they waste my time, I also have to pay for it. When I asked them why they took me as a patient knowing that Dr Lee wouldn't be able to do the surgery, I got 2 responses. First, they regularly refer patients to other doctors for the surgery. So what is the point of going to Dr Lee??? No other doctor is going to do the surgery without examining the patient. So you are going to have to pay another doctor anyway. Second, they said that other patients were able to get Aetna to cover the surgery but "they had to jump through hoops", their words. Do you think they might mention that when you tell them you have Aetna? So if you have Aetna, I highly recommend that you NOT go to Dr Lee. Or at least be very aware of what you are going to have to pay for.
