As a Licensed Midwife, I am so grateful to be able to consult and/or transfer my patients into Dr. Baghdadi care when my patient needs a higher level of care. He is one of the few doctors in our region that supports the midwifery community and really cares about the famlies he serves. Last month my client had to have a cesarean at St. Joe's because her son was in a funky position that we could not change at home. As a mother and midwife who knows the cost, both emotionally and physically of having this surgery- it was bittersweet to be in the operating room witnessing her story unfold. I am blessed that Dr. Baghdadi kindly took our home birth transfer and let this powerful mama continue to try other ways to birth her baby. I am grateful to the determined, gentle, kind nurses who made everyone feel welcomed. I am thankful that both Dr. Baghdadi and Dr. Wilkinson (anesthesiologist) allowed me into the OR. Not only did Dr. B give 2+min of delayed cord clamping, the clear screen helped the parents see their son emerge from his mothers womb and in under a minute be immediately placed on his mothers chest- skin to skin. St. Joe's helped this family make lemonade out of lemons, Dr. Baghdadi supported his local midwife by taking my transfer. For me, watching a cesarean 11 years later after my own be so peaceful, gentle and family centered gave me a deep peace and trust in our birthing culture. Not every birth is perfect, but I feel like I saw such a gift. Thanks for allowing me to share

Dr Baghdadi successfully performed an ECV on my breech baby at St Joe's Hospital at 37 weeks. He was professional, knowledgeable, and confident in his abilities which allowed me to relax and let him do his work. The staff that he worked with in the labor and delivery unit was wonderful and supportive as well. I cannot recommend this care provider highly enough!

We had a fantastic birth experience with Dr. Baghdadi. Throughout my pregnancy, I was under the care of a midwife. At 42 weeks when we still couldn’t get active labor going, the midwife asked me to transfer to the hospital-something that I was very nervous about. Dr. Baghdadi agreed to take me as a transfer. He was very patient and calm about the fact that I was 2 weeks over, but expressed that we needed to convince baby to come soon. After beginning more gentle, conservative measures to get labor started (unsuccessfully), he came to visit my husband and me (at 11pm on a Saturday!) to let us know that I would have to start pitocin the next day, at 42w2d. Under his care, and despite the pitocin, I was able to naturally labor and deliver-something that was very important to me! The nurses were even teasing him that he had an inner midwife! I was not only impressed with Dr. Baghdadi, but each of his residents as well. Despite the fact that I did not originally want to birth in the hospital, it was a fantastic experience!
