I recently had the misfortune of dealing with Dr. Koka's office at SJ Medical, which contracts with Neighborhood Healthcare. I am compelled to share my terrible experience, and if there was an option for zero stars, this review would definitely warrant it.
To begin with, it took a staggering 18 hours of my time, spread over numerous phone calls and transfers between Dr. Koka's office and Neighborhood Healthcare in Hemet, just to obtain a login for the patient portal. The lack of communication between these two entities was frustrating and indicative of the overall disorganization and negligence I encountered.
Today, I went to pick up my lab orders, following my discouraging interactions with rude staff members over the phone. The moment I laid eyes on the building, I couldn't help but notice its dilapidated and rundown appearance, reminiscent of a scene from "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" or "Shutter Island." Cobwebs adorned both the inside and outside, giving the impression of a neglected facility. It was a peculiar mix of outdated signs boasting about drug testing for all prescriptions and the absence of pharmaceuticals on-site, alongside tattered birthday decorations, most likely from a 99 cent store.
What struck me the most was the excessive display of the doctor's name plastered all over the place, as if compensating for the neglect of the rest of the building. Ironically, the giant banner with the doctor's name seemed to be the best-maintained element in the entire establishment.
As if the physical condition of the office wasn't bad enough, I encountered further problems when leaving. The exit gate was broken and couldn't be opened, forcing me to reverse my car. In the process, the overgrown branches scraped against my vehicle, causing damage. It was evident that basic maintenance was sorely lacking, and I can only imagine the consequences if this were a restaurant in California; it would likely receive a dismal rating from the health department.
In conclusion, my experience at Dr. Koka's office was nothing short of a nightmare. From the infuriating communication breakdown to the appalling state of the building, it is clear that patient care and comfort are not a priority here. I strongly advise others to reconsider choosing this office for their medical needs, as it is a disorganized and neglectful establishment that falls far below even the lowest expectations.
