I sent a drone in for repair at the beginning June 2017. I received it back about two weeks later, and the remote was broken. I contacted Dronefly that day and asked them to document the remote was broken. The screw mounts were broken, and that I would attempt to fix. I installed longer screws that worked to hold remote together. I put the remote away; I did not have time to fly the drone for the foreseeable future (certainly my mistake). Fast forward a couple weeks, I pull the drone out to fly it, and the antenna was broken as well. I did not call right away, again, another mistake on my behalf.
I contacted dronefly by email July 17th, 2017 and did not get a response. I called on the 19th and was told that the unit was marked out as good with no broken parts. The gentlemen I spoke with said he asked everyone in the shop if they remember speaking with someone about a broken controller. I offered to provide phone records that would show a call to dronefly. Made no difference. The drone flies fine, but I have a broken antenna. Short of the story, sent in a crashed drone and a perfect remote control, I received back a fixed drone and a broken control, and dronefly will do nothing. I cannot recommend this company for drone repair and if you use them, make sure you do not let the shipping guy leave before you open the package to verify no broken items in the box. I do not believe dronefly purchases insurance for your drone when they ship it back to you; dronefly said I should try filing a claim with UPS, why wouldn’t they if the insured the package? If you have any issues, dronefly will tell you too bad. I am at some fault though as I let some time lapse before doing anything about it.
