I've been coming to this Drybar since practically the grand opening, and I am a "Barfly" monthly subscriber. I have RA, which makes it painful and difficult for me to do even the regular shampoo and style maintenance of my hair. So I come to the Drybar approximately once a week for my wash and style. As a "regular" customer I just want to let you know how much I appreciate this business. It doesn't take weeks to get an appointment, and in fact, they often have last minute availability, which is really nice. The employees are very sweet and always very professional. Shout out to Christa, who always does a great job, and she is just the sweetest. In fact, all of the girls who have done my hair are awesome, and they all deserve a shout out! I know how hard they work, and they do great work. And to the Receptionists...I especially love the ones who go the extra mile! Being greeted BY NAME and with a smile when you walk through the door, and then being asked if you would like something to drink - those are always the kinds of things that elevate your business to a more professional level. They are all awesome, and they always make my hair look beautiful!
If I could give some constructive criticism, I would like to mention a couple of things. First and foremost, I know that you strive to have on-time appointments so there shouldn't be any customers waiting; and even though you do a really good job of it, we all know that sometimes it just isn't the case. Sometimes customers have to wait a few minutes. And I also understand that you don't have a lot of space. But I'm appealing to you now as a customer who has a physical disability - I have severe RA and as a result I've had to have surgeries, and both of my hips are prosthetic. So it's very uncomfortable for me to stand for long periods of time; but it's even more painful for me to sit on the hard, backless, little minimalist style bench that is the only seating offered in the front of the salon. There's almost nowhere to accommodate someone who uses a wheelchair, or a walker, crutches, or other types of assistance, so that they can sit/stand or wait comfortably inside the shop. Whenever I come to this location, if I have to wait for a few minutes for my stylist I honestly don't mind...but I absolutely can NOT sit on that bench. It's just physically too uncomfortable. So if I have to wait, I always go and sit in my car (which I park in the Handicapped space right in front of the salon), and I ask the Receptionist to call my cell phone when they are ready for me (which is asking them to go above and beyond their job description, I know, but they always do it with a smile). But I think it would be better for your business - and definitely much nicer and more welcoming for the clients - if you could possibly put two or three small chairs in that area, instead of the bench. They don't need to be big or expensive chairs, just something that is comfortable to sit on while waiting for a few minutes. Like I said, I know it's the goal of the Drybar to NOT have clients waiting, but the reality is that it does happen sometimes. So why not make it a little more comfortable for your customers when it does? I could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure you'd probably rather have me sitting inside than outside in my car when I wait - no? You guys have a nice shop, and you have gone above and beyond to have television monitors across from all of the stations...so I'm seriously hoping that this isn't too much to ask. Chairs. Please.
I would just like to mention one more thing. Hot water. Sometimes it takes a long time to get warm; others, the stylist has to move me to another bowl because one isn't getting warm. And twice I've been shampoo'd with COLD water! I'm sure there are probably some state board or health department rules that govern the temperature of the water that you use on clients. I know it may not be your fault at all (usually it's plumbing), but I feel like this is important to mention.
Thank you so much again for all that you do - you ROCK!
