Overall hit-or-miss. Their sizing selection is poor (No wide sizes were available for any of the men's hking/work boots I viewed), and I was told by the clerk on duty that they did not stock any sizing-- or for that matter any inventory-- besides that which was on display. Organization was middling to acceptable, with most but not all shoes' boxes located under their respective displays. The store's pricing is not competitive with direct-from-manufacturer ordering: though coupons may bring the shelf price down, those discounts are often available through manufacturers as well, and the combination of limited size availability and absent sales-floor service give no reason for a shopper to prefer this store to online shopping. One star for indeed being a store that sells shoes; two for having the occasional intriguing buy; three for attentive and professional cashiers in the event that one does find something to take home.

Gosh between my wife and me we have bought dozens of pairs of shoes here. Recently we got a free tote that keeps picnic food and drinks cold. We love it. DSW sends us a lot of coupons that bring us into the store. My size is 9 1/2, very common, so often they are sold out, but they are willing to call the other stores and find a pair that fits. I've actually done this, then driven to another DSW to get the shoes. This DSW a t Northgate has free parking and a really helpful and friendly staff.

I first got introduced to DSW in California. I have to say I am a fan of the concept. Men's and women's shoes all under one roof. Decent selection and absolutely no pressure from salespeople. Just pick the shoes you want and if they have it in your size then you are in business. Recently they have been expanding their online offerings so it is easy to shop online and pick up on store or easy to go to the store and buy online if they don't have your size available. The prices are very reasonable. Of you are a true bargain hunter check out the clearance section in the back of the store. Sometimes you get a really great deal.
