This hidden gem is located on the southern bank of Eagle lake. The cabin was built long enough ago that the forest department can not take it down because it is considered to be a historical landmark. This cabin has served as refuge for countless hikers, snowmobilers , backpackers, and many more. Some of these peoples stories have been recorded in the guest book found inside the cabin, some dating back to the 1930's. There is food, bedding, a wood stove, fishing poles and many more things left by people that have come and gone. Traditionally if you take something from the cabin you should also leave something for the next person.

An amazing place, feels like you are dreaming to wake up on a late summer morning and pick wild huckleberries while catching cutthroat trout. So peaceful, so quiet. Respect this place. Take care of it. Leave it more beautiful than you found it. Generations from now, this place will still bring peace and joy to those who venture to find it.
