Let me tell you a story. Once upon a time, there was a father that wanted to buy a handgun for his son on his 21st birthday. Sadly, this event coincided with a pandemic that left a huge portion of the population clamoring for new firearms. So this father ventured forth with a month and a half until the day of birth for his oldest son would arrive. He started his shopping locally - as I think we all should. All the local gun shops were just too busy. Or in one case was not willing to put a gun on hold long enough for Dad to make the hour drive to the shop to take care of the paperwork and pay. Then this Father called Eclipse - it was an act of desperation as he increased the distance he was willing to drive to find just the right firearm for his son. After talking to at least a dozen other gun shops, this experience was unique. This person was actually helpful. She laid out all the documents, requirements and certifications that would need to happen. Something NONE of the other gun shops had mentioned. It had been a while since Dad bought his last gun and rules had changed. So Elizabeth made it all clear. What's more, she did it without any of the customary attitude that so frequently goes hand in hand with folks working in gun shops. But wait, then she actually showed an interest in solving my problem. Unlike every other gun shop that did not have a waiting list, or a means to let folks know when a weapon is again in stock, Elizabeth... wait for it... actually took down my name and number to let me know when she could track down what I was looking for! This story is not over yet, and maybe my high rating is premature, but this I am sure of. When you encounter a business that manages to put 100% of ALL OTHER businesses of the same kind to shame like Elizabeth did, they deserve your business. Which is why I am going to ride this one out and happily drive the extra hour and a half to do business with these folks. If for no other reason than to see if they actually manage to continue to deliver head and shoulders above the rest. If they don't, I will let you know!
UPDATE: Well, my oldest sons birthday has come and gone. On his actual birthday, I had a birthday card that included an I.O.U. for a specific firearm to be obtained when it became available. As I sealed the envelope that morning, I started my usual routine, which included checking on social media. I was following a local gun store on instagram (since they don't do wait lists and would only post their new stock and do things on a first come, first served basis 🙄 ) and the exact pistol I was looking for showed up. I called and snagged that bad boy immediately. But that is not the real story to tell here. The real story is that Elizabeth from Eclipse Firearms did follow up with me numerous times. Sadly, the firearms she suggested were close, but not quite what I was looking for. However - SHE DID CALL BACK! She checked in regularly and if she got anything in that even came close, she gave me a call. While I am happy that I was able to get what I was looking for when it came to my sons gift, I was sad that I ended up buying elsewhere. Eclipse Firearms has earned my business and when I am not 'under the gun' (see what I did there?) in terms of timeline, I will be going out of my way to support these good folks and you should too.
