This new market has a very extensive inventory including fresh fruit and vegetables, a large meat case, dairy & eggs, canned goods, dry goods, herbs and spices and all sorts of general groceries with extra focus on Mexican / Hispanic specialties, but it really has everything you would look for in a small grocery store, and seemed to have reasonable pricing on most items, which is nice since grocery stores in the valley tend to be on the high end of the price spectrum. It's larger than it seems from the outside- much bigger than 7-11 but not as big as Oliver's or Safeway... Definitely worth checking out.

I visited yesterday, and I was really impressed. Loads of fresh produce, reasonably priced. Meat counter runs all along the side of the store, with many products. Wide variety of ethnic foods available, dried and canned. Lots of authentic mexican dairy products there. I will be shopping there frequently in the future.

Don't be fooled by the small footprint, El Torito is a well-stocked gem of a market. Here are a few of my favorite things:
They have an excellent fresh produce and meat section with better prices than Oliver's or Safeway and equal quality.
The fresh salsas are delicious. My favorite is the roasted tomatillo.
The store is very clean and the staff are always really friendly.
There is a hot self-serve tamale station. The green pork is my favorite, but there are always a bunch of other kinds.
Especially for folks in Rincon Valley, please don't sleep on this place!
