As a previous patient of Dr. Bhui, sadly, this is not going to be a positive review. I brought my daughter in for an emergency appointment as an already established patient. She had an accident and had broken her tooth. I wanted to try everything possible as a parent to save the tooth, as she is only 13 years old. Well, Dr. Bhui called me back during her visit and said that he recommended pulling her tooth. I asked him if we could try a root canal and crown, whatever necessary, to save the tooth. After some pushback where he told me he "could try but the prognosis was poor", he had an estimate drawn up for me and told us to schedule for another visit.
I asked if he could at least cap her tooth until we could return, and he said he could but it wouldn't last long. I was then told our dental insurance wouldn't cover the treatment needed (even though I'd already confirmed with my insurance provider it would) I was given an out of pocket estimate totalling almost 2 Grand, and sent out the door. The cap placed on her tooth was crooked but I figured it would be OK as it wasn't meant to be permanent.
Well, after all that, the cap that was placed on my daughter's tooth came off 2 HOURS later! And my daughter told me she was being questioned during the procedure even though she couldn't talk, and tried to let the Dr. know that she was in pain. He told her to raise her hand if she was hurting, and she did, but he just went on with the procedure anyway. And she said he told her that he didn't think the tooth could be saved, but that "your mom wanted me to try anyway." Why tell an already scared and nervous child this?
Long story short, the very next day I was able to get her an appointment with another dentist, who not only was able to repair the damage and perform the root canal and crown placement with no problem or hesitation, but was able to accept my insurance with an out of pocket cost that was less than half of what I was quoted at Elite Dentistry!
Needless to say, we'll be moving our family's care to the new office we found!
