Elite financial review
When I first had contact with Ryan it was after my mother passed away. She was his client for 15 years and she asked him to assist my brother and I in dealing with her assets upon her death. At first, Ryan was very helpful and stated he didn’t want any compensation for his time other than the prospect of our business. Before my mother’s assets were finalized, we decided not to use his services and graciously let him know. From then, his whole demeanor changed. He was pushy and aggressive in our decision to not use his services and ultimately tried laying on a huge guilt trip about our own mother’s wants and desires and what she deserved. We mentioned he said he would help us and he immediately responded that his duties had been fulfilled. When I went to transfer my funds from his controlled account to my own, he had locked some of my funds in a mutual fund that could not be transferred. I asked him to cash out the mutual fund so I could transfer the assets and he put it all on me saying he no longer had control of my account. I couldn’t access my account either so I had to go through the extra steps of calling TD Ameritrade, going through added security because he set up the account, and had to deal with my own transfer. Not only did I lose thousands of dollars from his choice of investments with my inherited money but in the end he did charge us a substantial management fee. I would highly NOT recommend him or his services. His communication was poor, lacking finesse and clear grammar, and his “help” that was promised to my mom for us on her behalf caused more emotional pain and difficulties.
