If it's a super-clear day (Santa Ana winds, after rainstorms, etc.), the view from the peak is awesome. The view is generally best late in the morning. Park by the gate and walk a short distance to the Peak on the paved road. PLEASE treat the facilities with respect so that the access remains open. I only wish the parking was closer (I'm handicapped, and even with both my canes it took me a long time to reach the summit and come back.
