My recent experience at Emmet Watson Oyster Bar left me thoroughly disappointed and frustrated. Upon arriving at the restaurant with a few friends, we were excited to enjoy a meal together. However, our anticipation quickly turned sour when the waitress at the entrance refused to seat us, solely because I was holding a cake from another establishment in my hand.
Despite explaining that we had no intention of consuming the cake at their restaurant and were simply carrying it for a later occasion, the waitress remained firm in her refusal. Her lack of flexibility and understanding was incredibly disappointing, especially considering we were eager patrons ready to dine at their establishment.
The overall vibe of the place seemed inviting, and the aroma of freshly prepared seafood was enticing. However, the way we were treated right from the start overshadowed any positives. The policy regarding outside food was not communicated to us beforehand, nor was it posted prominently for guests to see.
In conclusion, while I cannot speak to the quality of the food or service beyond the entryway, the initial interaction with the waitress left a lasting negative impression. As someone who enjoys exploring local dining spots, I value hospitality and reasonable policies. Unfortunately, the Emmet Watson Oyster Bar fell short on both fronts during my visit.
